Backyard Wildlife

I spent today on the lanai with my laptop and camera and got some fun pictures of our regulars.

I love our squirrels. Several of them will take a peanut from my hand now.

We have had a pair of Woodpeckers hanging out for a couple years and this year they had a pair of babies. Sometimes I'll see 3 or 4 at once, but today just this one.

Mrs Cardinal. She and Mr Cardinal have been regulars for several years now.

Those squirrels do love the peanuts!

Even pigeons are welcomed... Okay, tolerated at least!

There are a whole mess of Bluejays that hang out here. I can't tell males from females with Bluejays although I assume they can.

They fight with each other and all the other birds except the Mockingbirds.

One of our lanai lizards. No doubt looking for a tasty bug.

The birdbath was a popular place this afternoon.

Mockingbirds don't eat seeds, but they still enjoy the bath. They are the kings of the back yard, none of the other birds mess with them. Don't know why, I think they get by on attitude.

Rocky spent the afternoon looking out the screen door at the bird/squirrel action.

Gotta love Florida in December.

Pulled back shot of the feeder and bath. I move the feeder a couple times a year to avoid a mound of seeds & shells underneath.

Mad about something.

That's it for today. Hope you enjoyed!
